With a view toward OA’s upcoming 50th Anniversary, the Outdoor Action Alumni Advisory Group was convened in December 2016 to reflect on the value of Outdoor Action and discuss how the program can continue to provide leadership development opportunities for students. After almost two years of work, I am thrilled to announce that the University has authorized the OA Strategic Planning Committee, a group made up of current students, OA alumni, faculty and administrative staff to:
- Review the history and accomplishments of Outdoor Action and identify the core elements that have contributed to the program’s success
- Explore the potential of and develop a proposal for an enhanced version of OA that strengthens student leadership development and supports the mission of the University
- Submit a final report to the Vice President for Campus Life by June 2019
This portal will provide updated information about the Committee’s progress beginning in January 2019. We are extremely grateful to all the members of the OA Advisory Committee who began their work in December 2016:
