Have you ever heard that it is impossible to provide students with meaningful leadership opportunities on technical courses? The goal of this workshop is to dispel this myth by discussing specific concepts and tools for applying the NOLS leadership curriculum on technical courses, including ideas on how to create and define student leadership opportunities. We will provide models on how this can be done on spring winter sections, mountaineering courses, climbing camps, and whitewater and sea kayaking courses and discuss potential applications to other technical course types. There will be time for questions and brainstorming future innovations.
